My name is Dareya Cohen and I live in Derwood, MD with my husband and two children. I have been creating jewelry for over 30 years. I know I don't look old enough to say that but my mom started making jewelry when I was about 10 and I always enjoyed it. I did stop for quite a few years but picked up the passion again. I have tried many different creative endeavors over my life and jewelry design is the one I enjoy the most. I love the creative freedom and working with all different types of materials. I love getting compliments on my pieces and I love knowing that what I have created is a one-of-a-kind work of art. I never duplicate the exact same piece twice (that would be boring). I occasionally use the same base design for a piece but change out the colors. I use all different types of materials for my designs but I especially love Swarovski Crystals and do a lot of my pieces using these beads and pendants. I also love to work with wire, knitting and crocheting with yarns and beads, resin, fused glass and anything that I think that would make a cool piece. I do not work with polymer clay as I don't have the level of detail needed to successfully create these stunning beads. If you see a piece that says it is polymer clay, please note that I use a remarkable woman on Etsy to supply my habit. She does far more than I could ever hope! My philosophy is that pretty, handmade jewelry shouldn't cost what some people charge. I know how much it costs in time and materials and that is what I charge you. I don't do a huge markup on my jewelry. If something is priced high, be assured it is because the materials were expensive or the piece itself was complicated to make and it took a while.

I love to work with Sterling Silver but unfortunately, with the skyrocketing cost of silver and gold, it is getting harder and harder to make pieces in Sterling Silver and make them as affordable as I would like. I am always willing to create pieces in Sterling though. Just let me know what you want and I will be more than happy to do it.

I keep all pieces on my website, even ones that have sold because if you see something you like but it has been sold, contact me and I can use that design to create an entirely new custom piece for you. I hope that you will take the time to look through my website and contact me at
designsbydareya@gmail.com if you have any questions.
